Magnificat

Composed for an a cappella SATB chorus, this brief through-composed piece—a setting of the Latin text—alternates traditional monophonic chant (for one or more cantors) with chanted choral responses set in a distinctly twentieth century idiom. Lush seventh chords and a disjunct melody within the choral sections make this suitable for more advanced choirs.
