Remi Fonseca Bauer

Bio

Remi Fonseca Bauer began her involvement in music ministry as a young girl, singing in the choir and as a cantor. With this experience, she was well prepared for the transition to liturgical composer.

Remi began composing music as a way of answering God's call to spread the good news, to give hope to those in need. With the hope of creating prayerful music for liturgies, many of her songs serve as beautiful reminders of God's presence in our lives. Her compositions include Mass for Our Lady of Light, "Pentecost Sequence," "We Thank You Lord" and "May We Know the Peace of Christ." She was also included in the celebrated book Unite Our Hearts: Hymn Texts by Women.

Originally from New Orleans, Remi attended the University of New Orleans where she received a bachelor's degree in education. She also received her master's equivalency during her years as a teacher and currently lives in the Washington D.C. area with her husband. There she serves on both the D.C. chapter and national boards of NPM and has been director of music at St. Rose of Lima in Gaithersburg, Maryland since 2014.
