This beautiful example of modern hymnody is Sarah Hart’s first song devoted solely to Mary. Set in triple time, it has a slow, reflective harmonic rhythm at first, which supports the stasis of the melody; both gain energy toward the end of each of the three verses.

"I have always wanted to write a Marian hymn, and am not really sure what took me so long! There was a particular week when I was asking for the Blessed Mothers intercession (a lot…), and so I just sat down at the piano and started to sing my heart and my prayer. I hope that people will feel that they can ask for Mary’s intercession, that nothing of the heart is too small an ask. I also hope they feel closer to the heart of Mary – her loving way, her kindness and compassion – and are unashamed to bring their prayers to her."
