Two canons for the price of one! An Advent Round of Rejoicing, based on the Philippians text used on the Third Sunday of Advent, is a jaunty pentatonic canon, with a folk-song feel. It presents an excellent opportunity to feature a strong soloist (who may sing the text straight through the first time), with the rest of the choir joining in on the second pass. Weaving Round, written to celebrate the Christian community and greater human family, is rhythmically simpler but just as lovely. Included with this round are five different keyboard harmonizations, allowing for a panoply of accompaniment options.
