Grayson Warren Brown was a celebrated Black Catholic composer with a major influence on liturgical music today. His songs “Jesus, the Bread of Life,” “If God Is for Us,” “God Be in My Head,” “Sing a New Song” and others have long formed part of the standard repertoire in Catholic hymnals. Grayson’s down-to-earth approach to liturgy and Scripture, coupled with his dynamic speaking style, also made him a sought-after presenter for workshops, conventions and parish missions.
Grayson passed away on July 2, 2023 – he will be greatly missed. Watch the tribute shared during the OCP Music Showcase at the 2024 NPM National Convention.
