OCP Reinvigorates its commitment to the Spanish-speaking Church in the U.S. with new director of Hispanic Initiatives hire

PORTLAND, OR —OCP bolsters their longstanding commitment to support and evolve with Spanish-speaking Catholic communities in the U.S. with the hiring of Koren Ruiz as director of Hispanic Initiatives.

“Koren is committed to the new evangelization and the development of faith and skills in the Hispanic communities in the U.S.,” shared Pedro Rubalcava, OCP’s director of music development. “I know that he will be an advocate for innovations and services to assist OCP in its mission to proclaim the good news.”

Ruiz is an established OCP composer, speaker and music director who brings parish and Archdiocesan experience developing and leading stewardship campaigns, formational workshops and training for bilingual communities. He will lead a newly formed interdepartmental team within OCP’s marketing division, focused on supporting current initiatives and creating new opportunities to support the growing Hispanic Catholic community in the United States.

“I feel very honored and blessed to be part of the OCP family and to have your confidence to serve the people of God through the Hispanic initiatives team,” Ruiz said. “As a Catholic immigrant to this country, I consider that the exponential growth of our Latino community is an enormous blessing that comes with many joys, but also with great responsibilities.”
