Bio
Jessica Ruiz applies her fifteen years as singer, songwriter and choir director to praise God and evangelize through music. A convert to the Catholic faith and also a “convert” to Hispanic Catholicism, Jessica is a leading singer, recording artist and woman committed to the mission of music ministry, in both English and Spanish.
Alongside her husband Koren, Jessica travels the country to offer concerts, ministry events, and liturgical music training and workshops in parishes. Jessica’s workshops "Digital Resources" and "The Musician in the Liturgical Context” focus on developing skills in liturgical music. Jessica is also one of the presenters at OCP Instituto events. Koren & Jessica’s first album, Tú Me Sostendrás, was published in late 2014, and their second collection, Tu Amor Es Fiel, introduces Jessica as a composer.
Koren & Jessica’s music is featured in contemporary Spanish-language collections such as Bendito, Bendito, Entre Tus Manos and, more recently, El Señor Nos Invita Vol. 3.
Jessica holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Western Oregon University and a Master's Degree in Personnel Management and Organizational Leadership from Warner Pacific University. Along with her husband Koren, Jessica serves as choir director for the Ascension Parish community in Portland, OR. Jessica also currently serves as an academic advisor and recruiting coordinator for Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, OR.
