In the Roman Catholic Mass, antiphonal chants accompany liturgical actions, like the entrance of the officiant, the collection of offerings, or the distribution of sanctified bread and wine. Antiphonal singing encompasses any call-and-response sung prayer. This responsive singing is often done alternately by the choir or cantor and the congregation, but sometimes is done entirely by the people or by the choir alone. Learn more in the webinar!
